CB2 panel says no to Walentas

DUMBO: A proposal for an 18-story residential building near the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO — a project that includes a coveted public middle school and dozens of units of below-market-rate housing — was dealt its first setback on Saturday morning when a community board committee voted against it on the grounds that it would block some views of the historic span. Vote is ‘docked’! Big crowd delays CB2 vote on Walentas tower

DUMBO: David and Jed Walentas’s proposal for an 18-story building next to the Brooklyn Bridge is so controversial that when all of the angry opponents and passionate supporters were finished speaking at the first public hearing on the project, members of the community board no longer had time to vote.
